ACS Boca Raton

The ACS- Boca Raton facility is a member of the Advanced Compliance Solutions, Inc. family of laboratories.  We are also a participating member of the Florida Atlantic University Research Park and actively working with the school, students, and their endeavors. 

ACS- Boca Raton is a 4,000 square foot state-of-the-art laboratory equipped to perform a variety of regulatory compliance approvals for our clients. The lab houses a 36-foot by 48-foot by 24-foot semi-anechoic chamber with the interior surfaces loaded with 8-foot RF absorbing material. Attached to the main chamber are two 16-foot by 24-foot by 10-foot shielded enclosures, one of which is a control room housing the measurement equipment and another which is set up to perform conducted emissions, immunity testing and antenna research. The semi-anechoic chamber is a registered and approved site with the Federal Communication Commissions (FCC) as well as Industry Canada. ACS- Boca Raton is accredited to ISO 17025 by the American Association for Laboratory (A2LA) as a Conformity Assessment Body (CAB). The laboratory has participated in research relationships with over fifty clients in the past 20 years.

Facilities

All aspects of commercial EMC testing are conducted at ACS- Boca Raton.  The 3-meter semi-anechoic chamber was the first to be listed with FCC as in compliance with the FCC rules, Section 2.948 (Part 15, Paragraph 15.38) for acceptance of data under their Equipment Authorization procedures. The chamber also meets ANSI C63.4 site attenuation requirements for both horizontal and vertical polarizations over a volumetric area for determining site suitability for performing radiated emission (EMI) measurements.  Among other services are CE Marking Immunity testing such as EN55024, EN61000-4-X series of testing, etc.

Research

ACS- Boca Raton’s relationship with Florida Atlantic University is a relationship with benfit’s to the lab, the university, the students and industry.  As a university R&D facility focused on EMI and antenna modeling, the 3-meter semi-anechoic room can be converted to a fully anechoic chamber with the use of 2-foot absorbing cones placed on the floor. The staff and facility provide a wide range of capabilities, from printed circuit board design using EMI reduction techniques, electromagnetic modeling, and to evaluation and construction of wide-band antennas. A list of the capabilities and interests are as follows:

1. RF measurements in the 30 Hz to 22 GHz frequency range
2. FCC and CISPR compliance evaluations
3. Perform FCC compliance evaluation on equipment subject to Parts 15, 18 and 90 Design and EMI evaluation of printed circuit boards and digital RF products to reduce electromagnetic radiation
4. Antenna design and performance evaluations
5. Radar cross-section measurements
6. Shielding effectiveness characterizations (both theoretical and experimental)
7. Limited scope of MIL461C/D evaluations
8. Minimize crosstalk in a high speed digital circuit
9. Development of a design scheme to reduce EMI from PCB
10. EM Mathematical modeling
11. Power line (60 Hz) magnetic field measurements
12. Development of accurate EM measurement techniques
13. Development of low leakage-current EMI filters for medical applications
14. Research and Development of Broadband Vivaldi antennas
