Management Team at ACSExecutive LeadersScott Proffitt, President Scott Proffitt is President of ACS and one of the principals of the company. Scott had over a decade of sales and marketing expertise at another laboratory prior to founding ACS in 2001. Scott is primarily responsible for guiding ACS at the strategic level. Michael Proffitt, Vice President of Operations and Finance Michael is the other principal of ACS. With a 12-year successful career with Siemens Energy and Automation, Inc., and an MBA in Finance, he is intimately familiar with operations, marketing and sales. Michael is responsible for the general operations of the business, as well as all financial and accounting activities. Technical ExpertiseSam Wismer, Technical Director Sam joined ACS in September of 2001 with 12 years of industry expertise. Sam’s experience includes LXE, Inc., a subsidiary of EMS Technologies. Sam served LXE as Sr. Regulatory Engineer in charge of coordinating product approval efforts with other members of regulatory approvals groups in order to achieve global compliance. Doug Massey, Manager, Product Safety Compliance Doug has built the Product Safety Department at ACS into one of the premier product safety departments in the country, achieving accreditations to test on behalf of Underwriter’s Laboratories (one of three independent labs in the country with this capability), TUV-Rheinland (one of the most well-known safety marks in Europe), as well as other quality accreditations. In 2004 Doug became one of the first product safety engineers in the country to receive his NARTE certification. Previously employed by LXE, Inc., Doug held the positions of Product Safety Engineer, and ultimately, Lead Regulatory Engineer with that firm. Steve O’Steen, Manager, EMC Compliance Steve manages the day-to-day operations of the EMC department at ACS. He has six engineers and technicians reporting directly to him and operates his department 21 hours per day. Steve came to ACS from TUV-Rheinland in Raleigh, North Carolina, where he served as the EMC Laboratory Manager. Steve has 25 years of experience in electrical and EMC compliance engineering. Forrest Duncan, Senior EMC Engineer Forrest served as a technical advisor during the initial start-up of ACS, and has since joined our team. Forrest worked for 33 years as a Compliance Engineer and EMC Manager at NCR Corporation, and designed several laboratories during the course of his career at NCR. Kirby Munroe, Manager, Wireless Certifications Kirby manages ACS’s radio device testing activities and interfaces with regulatory bodies around the world to achieve required certifications. Prior to ACS, Kirby held the position of Senior Compliance Engineer for Motorola Corporation. At Motorola, Kirby was responsible for the operation of the organization’s EMC laboratory, certifying their personal communication and land mobile devices. Antonio Figueiredo, Manager, Global Access Solutions Tony manages ACS’s Global Access Solutions department that interfaces with international regulatory agencies. Prior to ACS, Tony held multiple engineering positions covering 17 years at Bell Labs. Responsibilities included Design and Development, Develop Prototypes, NPI philosophy, Product Testing, Life cycle engineering, and supported manufacturing and sales. Additionally, Tony was responsible for third party approvals to UL 1863, 497, 60950, Telcordia GR-1089, GR-449 and GR-63 NEBS, ITU series and assorted International standards.
